Listen up Activision! Here's some advice for you.
Late last month I got to play Assassin's Creed in Sydney, and though there were a few things which really struck me about the game - it's level of detail, intriguing story, excellent style - I was left wondering this too: why do Spider-man's games suck?
I reviewed Spider-man 3 earlier this year and let it off lightly, it was a worm-ridden week old turd. The newer game, Friend of Foe, isn't supposed to be that great either. Why is it that Spider-man, such a fun character, gets such bad games? Deadlines can be blamed, but Friend or Foe should've been a Spidey title to fix that. I long for the days of Maximum Carnage, heck, even the original Spider-man game on the Mega-Drive has been better than titles released in recent generations.
Altair, in Assassin's, does everything a Spider should do except shoot webs, and he does it a whole lot better... Activision, if you're reading this, buy a license to the Assassin's Creed engine. That, or just don't make half-arsed Spider-man games. It's embarrassing now.
We're watching.
