Little Dudes #2 - Breaking Tradition

Innovative ideas are the opposites of good old ones.

As promised, this week you've been given the honour of meeting the two dudes who are central to the narrative of this comic – meet Ben and Bob. Ben, the green bean, is a highly intelligent individual with a sharp wit, and Bob, the pink pig, is a dude who at a first glance appears a dullard, but like most things, there is always more than meets the eye. I can say no more, just keep checking in for future Little Dudes issues.

You may have seen that Guild Wars: Nightfall has been officially announced, and I for one could not be happier! A day earlier I had been wondering when NCSoft and AreanNet were going to announce Chapter 3 in the Guild Wars saga - looks like the Man was listening in on my thoughts.

I first started playing Guild Wars late in the beta for the first chapter upon recommendation by a one Tristan Clark and was instantly hooked. The low learning curve set against a difficulty which required skill and brains ahead of spamming attacks made it a winner. It's no wonder then that the community is full of intelligent life, something which I unfortunately cannot say about World of Warcraft lately (fingers crossed that those lesser folk come to the end of their attention span soon). When Factions hit earlier this year I was sleeping for only three to four hours a night for a couple of weeks. That's just horrifying. The same is about to happen all over again (damn you NCSoft for making such a damn good game).

You can read all about the two new classes being introduced in Nightfall here. At first they appear to be the equivalent to an Angel and a Demon which leads to what you'll see below. However, the real truth differs in that the forefront purpose of these classes will be to lead and strategise, and to add a sense of scale to your battles - a means to a justifiable use of the word epic. The Paragon, a guardian angel of sorts, and the Dervish, a class capable of conjuring gods (that's just bad-ass, man).

But the best news is that this weekend Guild Wars users will get the chance to test drive the new classes, and visit the new areas Nightfall will open up upon its release. I'm pretty sure NZGamer will be whipping up a run-down of that event, so stay tuned!
