Bungie showcased in a Twitch stream today some of the new and remixed content Destiny players can expect to see in the game’s free April update. Some of the highlights are a brand new strike, as well as a higher-levelled version of the wave-based Prison of Elders mode.
The new strike, named Blighted Chalice, will be the culmination of a string of quests with Variks, and will see players take on a new boss, Taken King Malok. The Winter’s Run strike has been tweaked for end-game levels too, and shuffled up with Taken enemies and bosses – including a Taken version of the Archon Priest.
The biggest addition is the Prison of Elders revamp, which will offer modes at 260 Light, and a harder mode at 320 Light and above. The harder version seems to have some extra mechanics, and will act like a score-attack mode. Killing enemies, and helping your teammates will boost your score. If you hit certain tiers of score, you’ll get new weapons and armour.
The game’s Light cap will be raised from 320 to 335, meaning that a bevy of new gear will also become available to players. Some of this gear will drop in the King’s Fall and Court of Oryx raids, which have been made harder as a result. The normal versions will drop gear at 320, hard at 330, and artifacts will drop in Court of Oryx at 335.
