Street Fighter V Works with PS3 Controllers, Alex Joins the Fight in March

Capcom have confirmed that Street Fighter V on PlayStation 4 will be compatible with PlayStation 3 controllers, and that the first DLC character, Alex, will come out in March.

The controller compatibility will be good news for players who prefer to use arcade sticks or fight pads. These can be pricy - upwards of $200 for a good arcade stick - and being able to use one's PS3 stick will prevent the need to buy a new, PS4-compatible one.

Alex, who originally appeared in Street Fighter III, is the first of six DLC characters that have been announced for Street Fighter V, the others being Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Juri, and Urien. All six are covered by the game's Season Pass, and will also be available to buy individually, using either Zenny (purchased with real money) or Fight Money (earned through gameplay). It's unclear how much the Season Pass will cost, but individual characters will be 600 Zenny (roughly USD $6).

Street Fighter V comes out on February 16, next Tuesday, for PlayStation 4 and PC.

Sold both my PS3 sticks last year way before this but I am happy I now get touchpad functions as opposed to not.

Missing my dual mod Hori Fighting Edge... supermodel of fightsticks. Hoping the new owner is loving this announcement now!
