PlayStation Experience Keynote Address Scheduled for Sunday, December 6

As with last year's inaugural event, PlayStation Experience 2015 will be opening with a keynote address that has now been confirmed to start at 7am on Sunday, December 6 NZDT.

The briefing will be streamed globally; no details were given, but it's safe to assume it will be on Twitch, and most likely YouTube as well. We'll also have it here on NZGamer.com for your viewing convenience.

PlayStation Blog's Justin Massongill has said that there will be "pleasant surprises", and while we won't know exactly what's in store until the keynote itself, there are a number of plausible possibilities:

  • New footage for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, introducing a new character portrayed by Laura Bailey: Sony recently announced that Bailey is starring in Uncharted 4, and will be part of a PlayStation Experience panel on the game's performance capture,
  • Details on PlayStation 2 emulation for PlayStation 4: last month, Sony confirmed that they were bringing PS2 games to PS4 through emulation, after it was discovered that this is how PS2 Star Wars games included in some Battlefront PS4 bundles are running on PS4.
  • New God of War reveal: Sony Santa Monica confirmed at PlayStation Experience last year that they're making a new God of War game, but there still hasn't been any sort of official reveal of the game.
  • PlayStation VR release date: Sony have previously announced that PlayStation VR would be releasing in the first half of 2016, and the beginning of that window is nearly upon us.

There will no doubt be other surprises, and we could see new footage for Sony's big 2016 releases like Horizon Zero Dawn, No Man's Sky, and Street Fighter V.

What are you expecting (or hoping) to see?
