Square Enix Bringing Nier New Project to Paris Games Week

Square Enix has announced its line-up for Paris Games Week at the end of the month, and it includes, among other things, Nier New Project.

The publisher announced the new Nier game (actual title to be announced) at E3 this year, there is still relatively little known about it. It's being developed by Platinum Games (Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance), with Nier director Yoko Taro in the director's chair, Akihiko Yoshida (Bravely Second, Final Fantasy XIV) doing character designs, Takahisa Taura (Metal Gear Rising) as lead game designer, and Keiichi Okabe (Nier, Tekken 6) doing the music.

When it was announced, Square Enix said that there would be more information revealed this spring. A special presentation will be made at the publisher's booth at 11am CET (11pm NZDT) on October 29; it will most likely be live streamed, though details haven't been announced.

As well as Nier New Project, Square Enix will be showing:

  • Just Cause 3 - playable on the show floor
  • Final Fantasy XV - Episode Duscae 2.0 demo playable on the show floor
  • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
  • Hitman
  • Final Fantasy Explorers
  • Dragon Quest Heroes; The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below
  • Life is Strange
  • a "new [Square Enix] Collective project"

Paris Games Week runs from October 28 through November 1. Other publishers present include Sony, who are hosting their next big media briefing after skipping gamescom in August, Ubisoft, EA, Xbox, Nintendo, Warner Bros., 2K, and plenty of others.

Awww Yis! I loved Nier, I'm definitely looking out for this one :)

Now all I need is a Dark Cloud Collection and/or Dark Cloud 3 and my RPG dreams will come true!

Never got round to Nier, it did appeal greatly to an RPG addict like myself, was on my list but just too many games to play. Any and all new RPGs from Square are greatly appreciated :)
