Guerrilla Games' Horizon: Zero Dawn will be a "an incredible licensing opportunity", with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) looking launch toys, apparel, and other collectibles.
David Evans, European licensing manager at SCEE, told Licensing.biz that Horizon has all the necessary factors to be a hit brand next year.
"The epic feel of the game, its breathtaking visuals, strong character development, imaginative combat sequences and the marketing weight of the PS4 release all combine to make this a hot property for 2016," he explained.
"Guerilla Games have created a lush post-apocalyptic world that players simply won’t want to leave and licensed merchandise offers consumers a way to extend that extraordinary experience into their everyday lives.”
SCEE's licensing plans for the game include toys, collectibles, apparel, accessories, publishing, and even stationery, which are planned to be available from Q4 2016.
Sony announced Horizon: Zero Dawn this year at E3, and it was praised by many - including NZGamer.com - as one of the highlights of the show. The game itself is due out on an unannounced date next year, exclusively for PlayStation 4.
