In a story from Eurogamer, it seems that a new Wolfenstein game is currently in the works.
The news comes after a voice actor for the Polish version of The New Order, Alicja Bachleda-Curuś, let slip that she was working on a “second one” during an interview with Polish TV station TVN. The interview was then translated by Eurogamer Poland.
“I’m working on a video game, [the] first part of which I have already made.” Alicja explained. “Now we’re making a second one, which will take two more years. I played this game as a child. I was very happy when I got to the point where I could shoot Hitler.”
While The New Order’s publisher Bethesda hasn’t announced anything, a sequel isn’t impossible to imagine given the positive reviews the game received. It even received a standalone prequel story. In the US, it was also in the top four sales figures for the month it was released. Bethesda’s release schedule is already locked in for the next two years, with Fallout 4 later this year, and Doom primed for 2016, leaving 2017 open.
Creative director for Machine Games, Jens Matthies, stated in a Reddit AMA last year that he’d like to work on a sequel, but it would hinge entirely on the financial success of the first game.
