Report: Nintendo to Launch Its Own Loot Crate Rival, N-Box

Nintendo are reportedly putting together a subscription box service, similar to the likes of Loot Crate and Zavvi's Z-Box.

According to MCV, Nintendo's "N-Box" will be available on three-, six-, and 12-month plans, as well sold individually. Each one will include a mystery assortment of toys, clothes, and other merchandise based on Nintendo's iconic franchises, like Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon.

Nintendo hasn't officially announced anything, but such a service would be consistent with the company's current focus on branching out and expanding the use of its intellectual property. Currently, Nintendo are working with DeNA to develop official Nintendo mobile games, and the currently 3DS-exclusive match-three game Pokemon Shuffle is heading to mobile devices soon. Nintendo also announced in May that they are partnering with Universal Studios to create Nintendo attractions for Universal's theme parks.
