Jade Raymond has today announced that she is opening Motive Studios. Based in Montreal, Canada, Motive is an EA Games studio.
Raymond, who announced her departure from Ubisoft after 10 years with the company last year, also announced Motive's first project will be Visceral Games' Star Wars game. In her announcement post on the studio's website, Raymond confirmed that in addition to her work with Motive, she will also oversee California's Visceral Studios and their progress on the as yet untitled project. She also stated her excitement to work with Amy Hennig, who left Naughty Dog in 2014 to work with Visceral as Creative Director on the project.
In addition to this, Raymond also announced Motive will be working closely with Bioware Montral, who are currently working on Mass Effect: Andromeda. She is also excited about the possibilities her new team now has with access to the Frostbite Engine.
During her time at Ubisoft, Raymond oversaw production of the first two games in the Assassin's Creed franchise at Ubisoft Montreal, as well as Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist as Executive Producer after moving to Ubisoft Toronto.
