Destiny Wins Best Game at BAFTA Games Awards 2015

This year's BAFTA Games Awards ceremony has wrapped up this morning, with Bungie's latest game Destiny taking home the event's big prize.

Best Game was one of a few categories Destiny was nominated in, the others being Game Design, Multiplayer, and Persistent Game. Those awards were taken out by Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, and League of Legends, respectively.

Going into the show, Creative Assembly's Alien: Isolation had the most nominations with six, but the only category it won was Audio Achievement. Again as much as I can at times enjoy Destiny I can't see how it wins best game awards when it's shocking on story, terrible for disconnections and comes from a company that lays all that blame on you the user and your connection when all other games play fine. These things do not make for game of the year especially against some of the other nominated games.

Funny I have put in a lot of hours with hardly any disconnections.. but I agree, best game might be a bit much. In saying that I haven't picked up another game since Destiny as I am hooked.

When I'm borrowing the game from my bro most others don't get played a lot either. But it is very much a hit and miss experience I can at times play a 6 hrs without a disconnection, other times at it's worst (which has thankfully passed) I would spend more time in a hour reconnecting than actually playing.

I do have some great friends that play Destiny (thanks to our NZG community) which makes up for it's short comings making it a lot of fun to grind away at things.

I couldn't imagine playing it without the community, that's what makes the game and almost any game imo. People I know who have tried to grind it solo have never lasted long.
