BioWare's hit role-playing game Dragon Age: Inquisition has taken home the big prize at the 18th annual DICE (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) Awards in Las Vegas, winning Game of the Year for 2014.
The D.I.C.E. Awards are held each year to close the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' (AIAS) annual D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas, a conference focused on the business and production side of the game industry. The awards celebrate excellence in various aspects of game design, and are voted on by AIAS members who meet certain requirements.
While Dragon Age: Inquisition won the biggest award of the show, Monolith's Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor also did exceptionally well, winning eight of the nine categories for which it was nominated (Game of the Year being the one category it lost.)
