PlayStation NZ has created a Movember team, to help the organisation with fundraising and awareness efforts. Anyone is able to join the team, or donate to its members.
Movember is a worldwide campaign aimed at raising awareness of and money for men's healt. Anyone can participate by growing a moustache for the 30 days of Movember, "to spark conversation and raise funds," or by supporting the men in their life and "helping to promote men's health."
Money raised by Movember goes towards a number of support and research programs covering prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health.
Every year, around 3,000 new cases of prostate cancer are diagnosed, and one in three men will be diagnosed by the age of 75. However, it's a treatable and manageable condition, as long as it's found early, which is why Movember and other health organisations seek to raise awareness.
Note: Originally, this story indicated that PlayStation NZ were running a promotion with Mo Glow decals and limited edition prints as prizes. However, this is not the case, and was a misunderstanding on our part. We're sorry for the confusion.
