Warner Bros. has announced a live-action digital series to tie into Netherrealm's upcoming fighting game, Mortal Kombat X.
The series is being created by Blue Ribbon Content, a new division within Warner Bros. focused on creating both live-action and animated series' for digital platforms. Little is known about the project, other than the fact that it "will showcase some of the franchise’s popular characters and introduce a new generation of fighters."
Blue Ribbon Content is working on a number of other projects as well as the Mortal Kombat X adaptation, including an animated short-form Justice Leage series called Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles, a virtual reality experience for Oculus Rift and Samsung Galaxy Gear VR based on Batman: The Animated Series, and a handful of original titles.
Mortal Kombat X (pictured above) is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC in April next year.
