Spoiler-riddled Witcher 3 Documents Leaked

Design documents for CD Projekt Red's open-world role-playing game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have leaked online, revealing details about the game's enemies, quests, story, and endings.

The files were reportedly obtained when a CD Projekt Red employee's Google Drive was hacked, and were subsequently posted to 4chan and Reddit.

The developer has confirmed the authenticity of the leaked documents, warning people to stay away if they wish to avoid spoilers. "A portion of the files contains information about the story of the game so we strongly advise against accessing them, as this may heavily impact and spoil your future gaming experience," CD Projekt Red's Michal Platkow-Gilewski told Eurogamer.

The documents include details on the game's various endings, as well as choices required to access each one. There is also a complete bestiary, including some monsters cut from the final game, various concept art and screenshots, detailed mission descriptions, and a full list of game assets.

According to IGN, the leaks also include a map for one area of the game with an area 64 square kilometres; for comparison, the maps in Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout 3 are each roughly 40 square kilometres. This is just for the island of Ard Skellig, a single area of a much larger game world, and there are at least two other confirmed regions (Novigrad and No Man's Land.)

Among the leaked files are also notes for the E3 demo for The Witcher 3, describing the opening scene.

"We start with a cut-scene with the camera descending down on the Baron's castle, showing off the lovely open world surrounding it. The camera tracks in on the window of the cottage where we talk to Keira Metz. Cue dialogue.

"We talk to Keira Metz and she gives us a task: remove the curse from the tower in the swamps. (Boob physics eye candy, appropriately prepared dialogue)."

Finally, a document titled "M03 - Alpha (Feature Complete) - 16.02.2014" explains that as of February this year, the game was feature complete and fully playable, though debugging, voice acting, and music recording were still to be done.

The Witcher 3 was originally due for a 2014 release, but was delayed until February 2015 earlier this year. It's being developed for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
