Update: Konami did not mention whether the delay would affect digital versions of the game. However, Sony is currently taking pre-orders on the PlayStation Store for a digital PlayStation 3 bundle that includes Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD, which is listed with the original March 20 release date. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 was similarly delayed last month, but the digital versions released according to the original schedule.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will release in Australia and New Zealand on March 27, a week later than originally planned.
The game was due to release on March 20, the same date as the Japanese and European release, but Mighty Ape's listings for all four platforms it is coming to (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360) show the March 27 date. We reached out to the publisher, Konami, for comment, who confirmed the delay.
Though no reason for the delay was given, there are reports that it is due to the Xbox One version not arriving in Australia on time. Rather than have the game come out later on that platform than on the others, Konami allegedly opted to delay the game's release entirely.
