MGS5: Ground Zeroes Delayed in Australia and New Zealand

Update: Konami did not mention whether the delay would affect digital versions of the game. However, Sony is currently taking pre-orders on the PlayStation Store for a digital PlayStation 3 bundle that includes Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD, which is listed with the original March 20 release date. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 was similarly delayed last month, but the digital versions released according to the original schedule.

Original Story:

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will release in Australia and New Zealand on March 27, a week later than originally planned.

The game was due to release on March 20, the same date as the Japanese and European release, but Mighty Ape's listings for all four platforms it is coming to (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360) show the March 27 date. We reached out to the publisher, Konami, for comment, who confirmed the delay.

Though no reason for the delay was given, there are reports that it is due to the Xbox One version not arriving in Australia on time. Rather than have the game come out later on that platform than on the others, Konami allegedly opted to delay the game's release entirely.

No exclusivity...yet Konami delay as to show no bias towards platforms by releasing later on all instead of one?

Well that's different.

I bought it from NZGameshop at $44.99 for Xbox One. Hopefully get it by mid semester break. Personally not worried about the delay since I can't play it until then.

Also got mine from nzgameshop. So much cheaper and don't mind the wait for shipping. Will be playing the crap out of it when it does arrive

Probably not; as far as I know they source their games from the UK. Which is also how they're able to offer the prices that they do.

I'll be pissed if the PSN download pre-order for the 20th is delayed, where do I go to voice my displeasure to Konami?

Whoever there local distributor is needs a cold fish slapped in their face repeatedly

They ship almost all games overseas; most pre-orders don't let you order from NZ (many do, though) but once the game's available (or just before) it's normally sweet. Anytime you see that "Shipping: This item is also available for shipping to select countries outside the U.S." you can order it (we're one of the "select" countries.) I can't remember the last game I wanted to buy from Amazon but couldn't due to shipping issues.
