Rumour: Grand Theft Auto V Coming to PS4

Rumour: Grand Theft Auto V Coming to PS4

Portuguese retailer Worten is currently taking pre-orders for a PlayStation 4 version of Rockstar's blockbuster Grand Theft Auto V, despite the game not officially being announced for the platform.

After reaching out to Worten for comment, Eurogamer Portugal was told that the vendor had "information" that the game would be coming to Sony's new console. The fact that the retailer is taking deposits for preorders suggests that they are confident that it will come out for the platform, though no release date has been given.

This follows rumours that a frequently-requested PC version is in development, though Rockstar has not confirmed any other platforms for the game beyond Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, for which it released last year.

I'll double-dip. I loved the game and haven't got around to finishing it yet; should this version be real, and tangibly better than my 360 copy, I'll start all over just for HD visuals / faster framerate / etc. There will be people who jumped in to consoles at this gen, too, who won't have the original version.

I think you'd be surprised by the number of people that will double dip on this game, if only to jump back into online with friends after getting rid of their old gen consoles.

Would need a whole lot of extra content to make me double dip TBH. If it's just going to be a slightly better looking version, I don't see the point? It already looks bloody good to me. Why don't Rockstar just get back to work on GTA 6 like they should be

You know what would be great is if you could use your PS3 or 360 save data( i.e via the R* Social Club) on the the PS4 or XB1, the idea of starting it all again from scratch just isn't appealing to me.

I would also like it if you already own the PS3 or Xbox360 version you can get it for a cheaper price (digital copy of course)

How easy would it be to port the PC version to PS4 & XBone?? Oh wait?! Meh, it'll happen soon enough. This franchise has to print enough money to tide them over the next several years before GTA VI comes out and sells 2billion worth in it's first 8 seconds on sale! :-D

Graphics, vehicle count, more pedestrians and hopefully the expansion pack as well. I'd buy it in a heartbeat and go back and 100% it.

I'm skeptical.. an open world ugrade would be a mammoth task.

Notice how the entire PS2 series got the PS2 Classic rather than HD Remaster treatment for PS3..

It depends how it was made; if you start with high res assets and trim them down for 360 / PS3, you can probably roll out better versions of assets by just changing an option in your exporter.

Still.. I might have just finished TR on PS3 and 4, but I'll prioritise 50-100 next gen hours elsewhere.. Watch Dogs would be a nice start.

Me too. Although I'm not overly fussed either way. It came down to either get GTA V for PS3 or get a PS4 on launch. The PS4 won.

I find it hard to believe they would put it on ps4 and not xb1 at the same time. I'd instantly grab it for xb1 as I rented a 360 to play it before and clocked the story, It's such a good game, but definitely looking forward to the next gen perks with it.

It makes sense.
Was a little lame that the game released in the midst of a gen switch, some people missed out.
Seeing as backward compatibility is non-existent, it makes perfect sense.
