NZGamer.com have today launched the 2013 Game of the Year Awards, in conjunction with Orcon.
The awards recognize excellence in videogames across seventeen categories, including everything from Game of the Year to Best Kiwi Game, Most Surprising Game, and Best NZ Retailer.
All awards are based on votes provided by visitors to NZGamer.com, and participants are encouraged to submit additional titles in categories where they feel the deserved winner isn't currently listed as a nominee.
"We're delighted to once again present Kiwi gamers with an opportunity to award the best of the best in our industry," enthused Aaron Scott - NZGamer.com's managing director. "Games are created for the players, and it's important that, at the end of the day, it's the players that determine which titles earn their collected acclaim."
The voting phase of the awards runs from today until January the 20th, 2014. Results will then be collated, before the winners are announced on January 27th. NZGamer.com visitors who participate in the voting process will enter the draw to win $1,000 of games to Orcon.
