PlayStation Store 12 Deals of Christmas [updated]

PlayStation Store 12 Deals of Christmas [updated]

Update: Deal #12 ends the promotion in high style, with a big discount on The Last of Us - a game many are tipping to be front-runner for the various game of the year awards (including our own.) It's available standalone for $59.95 ($53.96 with PlayStation Plus) or bundled with the season pass for $71.22 ($64.10 on PS+.)

Vita owners don't miss out either, with a deep discount on the best version of one of the greatest JRPGs released on any platform in recent years, as Persona 4 Golden gets the low-cost treatment for the next 48 hours. Previously $69.95, it's now just $35.95 (or $32.36 to PS+ subscribers), which works out at about $0.30 per hour of entertainment you can expect to get from it.

Original Story:

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe are once again running their 12 Deals of Christmas promotion for the lead up to Christmas. Every two days from the first of December, two selected games on the PlayStation Store will go on sale for up to 65% off.

SCEE ran a similar promotion last year, with relatively new games (at the time) like Sleeping Dogs and Far Cry 3 going on sale for 67% off and 50% off, respectively. Missing from last year's sale, though, were PS Vita games, something SCEE is addressing this time around - one of the two games going on sale every 48 hours will be a Vita title.

The sale is scheduled to start at an unspecified time on December 1 (in Europe). We'll keep this post updated with each new sale that comes along, so you may want to bookmark this page and check back often.

Tomb Raider seems likely; it's been showing up on various PC deal websites of late and I'm pretty sure console versions were included in various Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals as well. Super good game, that. Yet to play TLOU myself :O

Tomb Raider was part of a PSN Easter Sale, not long after it came out, so I'd say there's a good chance it will show up in this promotion.

Surprisingly good game, I'd encourage anyone who likes that sort of thing to pick it up if it shows up. Just don't expect too much from the multiplayer...

Chris just confirmed that there will be no PS+ sale in this promo. He did however strongly hint that ACIV and The Last of Us will appear.

I can vouch for Velocity Ultra. I got it as a PS+ freebie a while back, but just started playing it the other day. It's a whole lot of fun, and a steal at that price.

I bought it; I now own that game on at least three different systems >_>

It's pretty sweet on Vita so far, although it shares the quirks / glitches of the other versions. Looks great on the OLED, of course.

Problem is I dont think (and correct me if I am wrong) it is a cross-save game and since I have played the first episode on the ps3, I dont want to start from the beginning on the psv. Guess I will waitfor another deal some other time.

BTW, isnt Soul Sacrifice going to be free in December/January (cant remember which month exactly) for ps+ holders? What is the point of offering it at a discount for ps+ holders in this deal?

It is a bit odd, but if you buy it this way you do actually *own* it, which might be appealing enough to some to justify the purchase. I don't ever plan on letting my PS+ sub lapse, so expiration doesn't bother me at this point :)

Yeah. Same. I guess the deal caters more for the non-ps+ gamer but even so its strange.

Anyone having issues with buying this on the SEN store online?
The PS+ discount isn't applying when I add this game to my basket.

There won't be, sadly, as the current deal is the last one. I believe one of the Sony reps on PS Blog confirmed earlier that there would be no PS+ sales during this promotion.
