PlayStation Store Update: 28 November, 2013

PlayStation Store Update: 28 November, 2013

This is probably the biggest PlayStation Store update to date, due in no small part to tomorrow's release of the PlayStation 4. All of the launch titles for Sony's new system are available digitally, and can be pre-ordered from the webstore now. It's worth noting, though, that all titles that are getting retail release are cheaper at brick and mortar stores.

Note that a lot of the prices for PS4 content has changed since going live on the PlayStation Store on Tuesday

December's Instant Game Collection games also arrive today. As always, the new additions can be "purchased" at no extra cost, and kept for as long as your PlayStation Plus subscription remains active.

This month also sees the first PlayStation 4 IGC games, Resogun and Contrast. Even though you can't download them until tomorrow, you can add them to your download list today so that you're ready to go. This also goes for people not picking up the new console on day one - as with other IGC games, you can "buy" the PS4 games, and have them ready to download when you eventually do get the console.

It's not all PlayStation 4 this week though, with a handful of new games and DLC releasing for PS3 and Vita as well. PS3 owners, for example, can pick up the Batman Arkham Collection, which includes all three Arkham games (Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Origins) for $132.95.

The PS Store has always has disappointing prices for NZ gamers. A PS4 copy of Call of Duty: Ghosts is $119.95 from the store, plus all the data you used to download it. Noel Leeming is selling it for $99. No contest really...

Awesome - I have my PS4 'freebies' all queued up.
The web store is a bit weird though.
The PS4 games included in Instant Games Collection don't show up under the PS Plus section. You need to either browse under the PS4 section or search.

That'll be one of the quirks of the games not being out yet, I suspect. They don't technically get added to the IGC until tomorrow (even though they're available to "buy" now by searching), so they won't show up under the PS Plus section until then.

I want the old ps store back. This new one is a mess. I wonder how badly it will run on ps4. Well you know the old adage. If it ain't broke...

This is why I have a US account so I can buy my titles for 2/3 of the price it costs in NZ. PSN+ is totally worth it though, GTA5 is the only new release title I've bought all year (for about NZ$75 via the US PSN store...)
