L.A. Noire dated!

If you've been hankering to get your hands on Rockstar's latest game, you've now got a date to scrawl on your calendar - May 20th. That's when L.A. Noire finally hits shelves across the country, after releasing elsewhere on the 17th.

They've also released a new trailer to mark the release date notificiation, which dials up our anticipation even further:

If you've not heard about L.A. Noire, from Rockstar (the people behind Grand Theft Auto), it promises to be ground breaking in many ways. With incredible facial animation, this period detective drama challenges the player to interview suspects and make determinations on their guilt based on their reactions. Rather than simply follow a tired old gameplay mechanic, players will succeed (or otherwise) based on the strength of their intuition - much like the detectives we're used to watching on TV.

There's also loads of actiony stuff and plot-development cinematics that similarly leverage their top-shelf animation technology.

Check out our excellent hands-on here.

This game looks and sounds really different and interesting, keen to see how Rockstar go with this away from their RDR/GTA well-known style.

Really keen to get this, may well be a day one purchase for me but I want to see some game footage first.

Only just got around to watching this trailer today but based on this I'm pretty sure I'll be pre-ordering this one.
