L.A. Noire Tech Trailer Released

Rockstar's upcoming L.A. Noire is getting a lot of attention, despite still being some months away from release. Some of that attention is purely because it says "Rockstar" at the beginning; more is a result of it's film-noire setting and yet more is likely a result of the "detectivy" nature of the gameplay.

Most, however, is quite probably a direct result of the striking animation and other game technology: trailers and in-game footage shown so far has been nothing short of mind blowing.

To help people grasp just how impressive what they're seeing really is, Rockstar have released a clip that explains some of the magical stuff you're seeing in their trailers. Check it out...

Wow this looks amazing. Tha facial construction is the best i've seen in a game before.

I wonder if this will be like Heavy Rain

When Heavy Rain was hyped as the most realistic ever, I looked at it and thought meh. But this, this really looks like a step up in facial animation. Impressive!

Nope, the gameplay apparently feels very similar to GTA less all of the violent stuff.

My understanding is that what you're seeing is in-game, interactive stuff. The idea, as i understand it, is that you need to interview people and determine based on their facial expressions / reactions / etc whether they're lying and figure out what to press them on, etc. Sounds damn cool / unique to me!
