The Uncharted series has sold over 41 million copies to date, developer Naughty Dog announced at their PSX panel. The franchise began in 2007, with the release of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune for PlayStation 3.
In the following decade it saw a steady stream of releases; the first trilogy was wrapped up on PS3, and a handheld title was released for PlayStation Vita in 2011. Drake’s globe-trotting adventures then came to the modern era, with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for PS4 in 2016.
The latest title – Uncharted: The Lost Legacy – released this August. The game told a spinoff story, featuring treasure hunter Chloe Frazer and her mercenary partner Nadine Ross.
The company didn’t break down which releases contributed most to that milestone. According to Gamasutra, Uncharted 4 sold over 8.7 million copies globally as of late last year. It’s safe to assume that more copies have been moved since then.
