Brendan ‘PlayerUnknown’ Greene has shared another look at Battlegrounds’ upcoming desert map, and it looks like it won’t just be stretches of sand to crawl across either. Large settlements and cities make an appearance too.
The team at our office in Madison have been working hard on our new desert map, and today I am excited to share some new WIP screenshots of this new terrain... pic.twitter.com/J2Dm21715p— PLAYERUNKNOWN (@PLAYERUNKNOWN) November 9, 2017

The only other details we know about the map are its dimensions; 8x8 km. This is the same as the current map, which came with the game when it hit Steam Early Access in March.
PUBG has performed extremely well this year. It handily dethroned Dota 2 as the most-played game on Steam, and has sold over 20 million copies. The game will also be coming to Xbox One on December 12.
