Life is Strange Dev’s Vampyr Delayed to 2018

Vampyr – the supernatural RPG from Life is Strange developer Dontnod – has been delayed. Originally slated to launch later this year, the game will now release in autumn 2018.

"Delaying the release of a project you hold dear is always a tough decision," Dontnod boss Oskar Guilbert said in a statement. "However, we believe that meeting a deadline should never compromise quality. We were still convinced just a few weeks ago that we would be able to release Vampyr this year. Unfortunately, a technical issue - now solved - has set our teams' schedule back at the end of the development.”

Guilbert goes on to say that the additional time will allow the team to polish, and balance the game.

"We want to thank our publisher Focus Home Interactive for giving us the means and time necessary to provide players a memorable experience... especially since so many of you are eagerly waiting for it."

Not surprised or disappointed really, even though it's been on my radar for a while. I'll always laud devs who admit it won't be ready in time instead of rushing out an unfinished product.,

I did not realise that Vampyr was from dontnod.
When I talked to the devs at E3, it sounded like a separate internal team. As they wrapped up LiS though, more of those members moved on to Vampyr.

After enjoying LiS I am really curious about what dontnod ill do with Vampyr.

I wasn't too hyped for it so no disappointment here, but still looking forward to it.

First I have heard of this title. I'm glad to at last found a game I am looking forward to finding more about and possibly buying day one as, unlike in the past, lately interesting upcoming titles have been too thin on the ground for me.

better to take your time and release a finished product than to rush the release date
