Tomb Raider Film Shows Off New Image of Lara Croft

Tomb Raider Film Shows Off New Image of Lara Croft

Following on from her reveal as Lara Croft earlier this year, publisher Warner Bros. has released a new image of Alicia Vikander in the upcoming Tomb Raider movie. Based on the 2013 reboot, the image features Lara in action with her bow.

A trailer is expected soon, but no date has been given.

"She has all the fierce, tough, curious, intelligent traits," Vikander shared in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. "But we've stripped away all of her experience. She hasn't gone on an adventure just yet. She thought she was a stuck up businessperson living in the modern youth culture of suburban London, but then this whole box of information. This is the beginning."

Roar Uthaug is directing the film, better known for his work on 2015’s The Wave – a Norwegian catastrophe drama. Dominic West (The Wire) will star as Lara’s father, Daniel Wu (Warcraft) as a ship captain, and Walton Goggins (Sons of Anarchy) as the villain.

The Tomb Raider movie is slated to arrive in American cinemas in March, 2018.

Wow Alicia looks stunning there in the photo. HAWT!
Still would love to know why Camilla wasnt given the part, or if she was offered it, especially considering her voice and motion capture experience with the character of the game the movie is being based off, just makes sense 110% .

I love Camilla too but I'm guessing the reason they would go with someone like Vikander is for dat star power, Academy Award winner and all that.

I think she looks really cool there so I'm hesitantly hopeful.

there's a hundred and one cosplayers that could pull off the look, it's really going to sink or swim on the strength of the screenplay.

Looking at you Prince of Persia...
