Bungie has revealed that several game capture programs won’t work with the PC version of Destiny 2. Further, some overlays for voice communication or hardware monitoring software won’t be compatible.
“To help ensure that every player will have a fair shot at fun and glory in Destiny 2 on PC, we resist attempts by third-party applications to insert code into the game client,” Bungie shared on their blog. “This may result in incompatibility between Destiny 2 PC and the features of common third-party applications.”
Here’s a list of capture and streaming programs that aren’t compatible with Destiny 2 on PC:
You can however use OBS and XSplit to capture the game, if you’re running it in windowed mode. Hardware solutions – like Elgato, AVerMedia, or a dedicated streaming PC – can still be used. This is in addition to GPU-bound programs NVIDIA Shadowplay, and AMD ReLive.
Non-compatible overlays for voice programs include Discord and Mumble. For hardware monitoring, you won’t be able to use the overlays for EVGA Precision XOC, MSi Afterburner, or Fraps.
