The Weekend Chat: SNES Must-Haves

This week Nintendo revealed that they would be releasing another miniature retro console. Last year saw the NES Classic Edition, which came pre-installed with a suite of games meant to reflect the system’s highs. The SNES Classic is a similar affair, packed with 21 games.

But compared to the NES, the SNES had a much broader library; publishers were releasing more-and-more games, and both eastern and western devs took a crack at the system. So it’s not surprising that some were left a little unimpressed by the current line-up.

What quintessential SNES games would you want on the system?

Maybe something like ActRasier? Or Chrono Trigger? Let us know in the comments below!

I still can't believe they're releasing this without Home Improvement: Power Tool Pursuit.

Chrono Trigger of course! I wouldn't have minded seeing Lufia 2 though, that game is awesome.

I never had a SNES or NES, so my must have games are all Sega Megadrive ones. And that was a disappointing re-release for me. Pugsy, Hurricanes, Jungle Book, Paper Boy, Megolomanic, and Home Alone were the ones I jammed the most.

I think Chrono Trigger is the biggest loss for not being there. That game is a gem. I would have loved to have seen Donkey Kong Country 2 as well. Still a good list of games for the price and the nostalgia of the SNES. I never personally owned one back in the day but used to hire it heaps just for Killer Instinct 2

Never had an SNES, went from an NES to a Sega MegaDrive II so I don't really know the gems. Have pre-ordered one anyway though. Looking forward to playing Super Mario World, Super Ghouls and Ghosts and Contra 3 the most.
