While sales for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds continue to rise, developer Bluehole aren’t resting on their laurels. An update is arriving for the battle royale shooter, bringing some balance changes to spawn rates, alongside two new weapons.
According to a blog post on the game’s official Steam page, some weapons were spawning too frequently, or not enough. When the patch lands, expect weapons like the UMP and SCAR to appear less often, and the UZI to crop up more.
This is our first real pass at adjusting the loot balance in the game after the data science team started their analysis. We will most likely be making several more of these passes during the course of Early Access, so please don't take this week's upcoming change to the balance as final!
Some new weapons are also being added. The Groza (pictured above) is a bullpup assault rifle, which will only appear in Care Packages. If you’ve been looking for more close-quarters options, the full auto P18C 9mm pistol is also arriving.
