In a stealth announcement, Microsoft revealed that the re-release for Phantom Dust will launch tomorrow for free on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC. Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg made the announcement on Twitter.
As GameSpot points out, Microsoft isn’t calling this a remaster, even though it does boast improvements over the 2005 original; the game runs at a higher resolution, and features widescreen support.
We’ve reached out to Xbox NZ to see if we can expect the re-release to hit our digital storefronts too. We’ll update this article when they respond.
Microsoft unveiled a new Phantom Dust at E3 2014, but they cut ties with developer Darkside Games in 2015. This resulted in the studio’s closure.
