The weird-and-wonderful cult classic Deadly Premonition is coming to tabletop thanks to a recent crowdfunding campaign. The project hit its Kickstarter goal of $50,000 USD in just eight hours.
As of the time of writing, the board game currently has $91,370 USD in funding – with 28 days still left to go. Multiple stretch goals have already been met, including more cards to expand the ruleset.
It's a 2-4 player card game, where players must profile suspects and identify a killer. For a brief run-down of the project, watch the original Kickstarter pitch below:
The game is out later this year, and is being made with the support of Deadly Premonition’s creator Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro – who has recently started his own studio. His last project was the Kinect-driven D4.
Deadly Premonition launched in 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game received mixed reviews, but a strong cult following resulted in a Director's Cut version being made available in 2013 for PS3 and PC.
