The image (seen below) features a character rowing a small boat, wielding a bow and shield on their back. Last week WWG.com claimed that the upcoming game would be called Assassin’s Creed: Origins, and would serve as a prequel for the entire series – a detail which Eurogamer’s sources have also confirmed.
In 2016, Kotaku ran a story that the game would be set in ancient Egypt. The image above makes reference to “Khenut villa.” Khenut was a Queen of Egypt, who lived during the time of the Fifth dynasty – around 2494 to 2345 BC. The first game, which released in 2007, took place in 1191 AD.
