For Honor Tournament Organisers Ban Overpowered Hero

If you’re looking to play For Honor competitively and the Peacekeeper is your main, you may have to start training with another character. Tournament organisers for MLG are going to ban the high attack-speed character as an experiment.

“For online tournaments, we will try running a tournament with peacekeeper banned, and then send a poll,” wrote an MLG online tournament supervisor on their forums. “If the community is largely in favor [sic] of banning the hero then we will do so.”

Banning characters in fighting game tournaments happens frequently. As Eurogamer reports, the Peacekeeper will be joining the likes of Super Street Fighter 2’s Akuma, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl’s Meta Knight.

A lot of the discontent the community has for the Peacekeeper stems from her attack speed. Many feel that her rapid strikes are antithetical to the game’s slower, more deliberate pacing.  “The PK is the steroid of For Honor,” wrote one disgruntled player on the MLG forums. “Without her on your roster you play at a disadvantage.”

I've played Peacekeeper since the Beta, and some people just can't counter her. But many people can, because they've bothered to learn how to. To dust off an old chestnut: git gud, scrubs. This is the coward's way out, and ironically contradicts the core concept of the game; there is no honour in a ban.

Couldn't they do what they have previously done in street fighter and other beat'em ups and adjust a character to make it more even fielded?
