Destiny 2 Officially Announced

Destiny 2 Officially Announced

Developer Bungie has confirmed the existence of Destiny 2, the latest entry to their sci-fi loot-driven shooter. The company tweeted a picture of the game’s logo, seen below.

This news follows on from a leak last week, showcasing some of the upcoming game’s marketing material. The poster hinted at a beta that would arrive first on PlayStation 4, as well as a September 8 release date. Kotaku is confident that we’ll see the game on store shelves during that month.

The first Destiny launched on September 9, 2014 for PlayStation 3, 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Legacy consoles were abandoned in preparation for the game’s final expansion, Rise of Iron, which launched in September 2016.

We’ll keep you updated as more news become available.

It will be interesting to see what they can achieve now that they no longer have the Xbox 360 and PS3 to support with the base game.

And what they've learnt from vanilla Destiny and its subsequent expansions.

I stopped playing when House of Wolves came out, I know the game has improved greatly since then so hopefully that means that Destiny 2 can be what Destiny was meant to be when it first launched.

Look forward to jumping back on . Gave it a rest after The Taken King due to burn out and boredom of the same content, but had a wicked time with a great bunch of guys and gals (and Geo's expanding list of his kids on his friends list jumping into our bloody fireteam lol #chickeninthea$$).
Hoping they fulfill on vanilla D2 what they learnt through the beta of Destiny 1. Hopefully we get an actual story this time with cutscenes.
If I here the words "I dont have time to explain why I dont have time to explain" again Ill burn it with fire.

Well with Luke Smith in charge, I can only imagine it will be quality. He did a stellar job leading The Taken King project. Now we just have to hope for dedicated servers.

Activision and Dedicated Servers don't go together unfortunately. The CoD community has been asking for dedicated servers for like 10 years and even though they sell 20 millions+ copies, still no dedicated servers.

It's not that they can't, but they won't.

Yes indeed, been enjoying MW Remaster online for the good old feels, but when your host connection turns the game into an ice skating sim - it's all over.

I really hope that they have a more subversive story this time. Make raids more accessible. The trailers were funny as anything though!
