New Games Releasing This Week: March 20 - 26

Don’t know what games are coming out this week? Don’t worry! We here at NZGamer.com have you covered, organising some of the biggest releases into one handy article. Remember, you'll also get VIP points for following games – so make sure to add these ones too!

For a broader look at what's coming out this month, make sure to check out the March 2017 Game Release Schedule. For an overview of the year, check out the 2017 Game Release Schedule, which we'll periodically be updating.

Note: While this list is intended to be as comprehensive as possible, it is difficult to cover everything, especially with the growing prominence of downloadable and indie games. The dates of some releases can also shift around. If you notice anything that's missing, please let us know in the comments, or by emailing news@nzgamer.com.

March 21st

Troll and I

Follow

PS4, Xbox One, PC

In Troll and I, players will be tasked with strategically utilising Troll and Otto's unique strengths to overcome the many enemies they will face in the Scandinavian backcountry - whether they be the human hunters pursuing Troll for their own greedy ends or mythical orcs known as 'Ahky' unleashed from the depths of the earth. Solo players can seamlessly switch between Otto and Troll in-game, using Troll's massive size and strength to throw boulders at enemies or Otto's speed and resourcefulness to stealthily take out a lone hunter without raising an alarm. Troll and I also supports split-screen gameplay for couch co-op, as two heads, and pairs of hands, are always better than one.

Rock Band VR

Follow

PC

While classic Rock Band simulates the note-for-note experience of a studio recording, Rock Band VR lets you feel like you’re actually performing in front of sold-out crowds. Alongside the creative freedom of a live show, you’ll get a deeper sense of presence as you interact with bandmates and shred on the stage.

Mass Effect: Andromeda

Follow

PS4, Xbox One, PC

Embark on a mission beyond the borders of our known universe. Navigate the uncharted reaches of the Andromeda Galaxy to unravel its mysteries, discover vivid alien worlds, and lead the charge to find humanity a new home among the stars. The future of our species rests on your shoulders. Customize yourself and your squad with a deep and flexible progression system. Master third-person shooter combat that combines advanced weaponry and special abilities. How far will you go to become humanity’s hero?

The Elder Scrolls: Legends

Follow

iOS

Welcome to The Elder Scrolls: Legends, a competitive strategy card game set in the Elder Scrolls universe. From building your deck to taking on foes in one of the game’s three exciting modes, every decision you make will require strategy and careful planning. Will you overpower your opponent with brute force? Or will you defeat your foes with speed and cunning? Each deck in The Elder Scrolls: Legends can be crafted using two of the five attributes in the game: Strength, Agility, Intelligence, Endurance and Willpower.

Bye-Bye BoxBoy!

Follow

3DS

Developed by HAL Laboratory, creators of the Kirby series, the BOXBOY! trilogy of puzzle-platformers sees players control Qbby, a simple yet surprisingly expressive square-shaped character, as he makes his way through a multitude of 2D side-scrolling levels. While he may look like a somewhat unassuming hero, Qbby packs a rather special power into that small frame of his – the ability to create a string of boxes out of thin air. By learning to harness that power and use it in a variety of ingenious ways, players will be able to solve the numerous puzzles that lie ahead.

Dreamfall Chapters

Follow

PS4, Xbox One

Dreamfall Chapters is a story about choices and consequences, dreams and reality, magic and science, chaos and order, and the broken heroes whose actions will shape the course of history in all worlds. Set in parallel worlds — one a dark cyberpunk vision of our future, the other a magical fantasy realm — the game follows two unlikely heroes on their journeys across worlds to save the very fabric of reality from falling apart. Dreamfall Chapters is a mature, emotional, dark, magical and heartbreaking adventure that will take you by surprise.

Touhou Genso Wanderer

Follow

PS4, Vita

In this roguelike RPG, you will take control of Reimu, the Hakurei Shrine Maiden, to investigate the latest incident to take place in the world of Gensokyo. Along the way, you’ll encounter a variety of characters from the Touhou Project universe, discover mountains of loot—each piece of which is valuable thanks to the game’s item fusion system—and test your mettle with your favorite Touhou girl in tow as your adventuring partner in this approachable take on the roguelike genre.

Also rock band vr sounds like a great concept, so long as the virtual drums line up with the real ones :P

You shouldn't need to turn off auto-renew for PS Plus. As far as I know, when you use a code, PSN just puts the repayments on hold until the time on the card expires.

Is it just me, or does Troll and I just seem like a Last Guardian knock off. An unfair judgement I'm sure, but I can't help but make the comparison.

Awesome! Can't wait to see all the fantastic memes and gifs from the awful and disturbingly bad Mass Effect Andromeda animations.

Yeah, it just extends the amount of time until the next payment is due.

Also, I will be picking up Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dreamfall: Chapters.

Mass Effect Andro has had more dev time than Witcher 3, so let's hope it has more than 30 hours of gamerplay.

Interesting thought. My first thought was it reminded me a little of brothers a tale of two sons but now all I can picture is Last Guardian.

Maybe they expected last Guardian to get another delay so they'd beat them to the comparison :P
