Naughty Dog ‘Know Nothing’ about the Uncharted Movie

Sony look set to finally bring the Uncharted movie to cinemas, but it turns out that developer Naughty Dog know nothing at all about the project. This is contrary to an interview that script writer Joe Carnahan held with Collider.

“I’m very happy with the script, and listen it was important that I got Amy Hennig’s approval, her and Nolan North, and what I’ve heard is the Naughty Dog guys are really happy with it,” Carnahan said. “But who knows? That could be like Donald Trump hearing something; that may not be true at all.”

After the interview went live, Uncharted 4’s creative director Neil Druckmann had this to say:

As Kotaku points out, Druckmann also shared his lack of involvement on the project earlier.

Carnahan completed the latest script for the Uncharted movie in January. His previous directorial efforts include The Grey, starring Liam Neeson.

I've only seen 1 good game movie and that was the Warcraft one, the critics sh*t on it because you obviously have to be a fan of the lore and know what the hell is happening.

I don't doubt that this film will be abysmal, but I do find it ironic that Neil Druckmann is getting concerned about writers misunderstanding the tone of Uncharted, after what he did with Uncharted 4...

I thought they had alot of control or at least voice over the script and production. It'll probably turn out a disaster without them involved.
Ive always wondered why Game devs can just get funding to make a full length movie made like the cutscenes, so many cutscenes are epic and I just want to see a movie length of them.

Nice honest response. Always find it crazy some are into over-saturating their IP.

Made sense as a game but as a movie it's just a Indiana Jones ripoff.
