The Banner Saga 3 – the final entry in the highly stylised indie tactics trilogy – has hit Kickstarter. Developer Stoic Studio is seeking $200,000 USD in funding to bring the project to life, with stretch goals to be announced at a later date.
Here’s a rundown of the game, from the Kickstarter page:
Banner Saga 3 concludes the tale. Steel your nerves, step forth into the approaching abyss. Cross the threshold from daylight without end into untold darkness. Warped lands within threaten your sanity, and a writhing wyrm tests your mettle. But here, in the darkness, is where secrets are brought to light and motives are made clear. Are your friends who they claim to be? They all look to you. What story will your banner tell?
Like previous entries, tactical combat accompanied by tough moral choices will punctuate the experience. The series’ signature hand-drawn art style is also making a return, with rotoscoped animations still playing a part.
The project has an estimated delivery date of December 2018. As of reporting, The Banner Saga 3 has $80,305 USD in backing.
