Mass Effect: Andromeda – the upcoming RPG from BioWare – won’t feature a season pass. Downloadable content will is still likely to feature, but there won’t be one purchase giving access to all pieces as they release.
BioWare’s general manager Aaryn Flynn made the announcement on Twitter, when a fan asked him about the topic.
When asked further about the nature of DLC – whether it would be single-player focused, or multiplayer – Flynn simply added “We’ll talk more about that later.”
As Polygon notes, no prior Mass Effect games have featured season passes. Previous titles delivered extra story content and missions, but they could all be purchased piece-meal. An Online Pass came with Mass Effect 3, but that only delivered content to the co-op multiplayer mode.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to release on March 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
