After careful deliberation, Microsoft Studios has come to the decision to end production for "Scalebound." We're working hard to deliver an amazing lineup of games to our fans this year, including "Halo Wars 2," "Crackdown 3," "State of Decay 2," "Sea of Thieves" and other great experiences.
Original story follows:
It appears that character action game Scalebound – the Microsoft exclusive, slated for Xbox One and PC – may be cancelled, according to several sources close to Kotaku.
Official news is expected to arrive later. When Kotaku reached out to Microsoft, they were supplied with this brief statement:
We’ll have more to share on ‘Scalebound’ soon.
Scalebound is being developed by Platinum Games, better known for their work on other stylish action games like Bayonetta. Game director Hideki Kamiya showcased the game at the Xbox E3 2014 press event. Since then, the game has been delayed several times into 2017.
No news about the game has surfaced in months. The game was missing from Xbox Wire’s post last week about the future of Xbox One titles. Further, some of the official Scalebound pages has been removed from the Xbox website.
We’ll keep you updated as more news becomes available.
