Street Fighter 5’s Rage Quitters Will Be Publicly Branded

Capcom looks to be getting even tougher on rage quitters in Street Fighter V, if recent pictures from a test-branch that went live on Steam are to be believed.

Industrious NeoGAF users gathered as much information from the test patch before it was pulled. One of their biggest discoveries was a shot fired at rage quitters. It appears that in the next update if you punch out of too many matches, you’ll be branded as a rage quitter on your profile.

"Special icons will be displayed on the Fighter Profiles of players who frequently disconnect, as well as those who never do, making it easier for players with the same icon to battle against each other," read the notes.

Street Fighter V has had a problem with rage quitters since the game’s shaky launch back in February. One of their first approaches put the onus on the community to identify offenders, by uploading videos to Capcom. Tweaks to the system in August saw rage quitters having their League Points docked, and putting a cooldown on their matchmaking.

Are you still playing Street Fighter V online? Have you encountered many rage quitters? Let us know in the comments below!

Haha, I looked at the picture and thought... they're going to turn rage-quitters characters all red in game so people can identify them. Would have been far cooler than a special icon.

That's awesome and all, but what if it's the servers fault or their internet?

that's actually kinda cool, but I imagine some people would /want/ to go for that all-red Karin skin.

It's more of a reward if anything. "Woah that's a sick Gief colour. So I only need 5 more RQs? Okay let's go".

Nobody ever wants to be the person who says this; but if it's their internet's fault, then they don't really have a benefit in playing online. I'd hope not many people even try online if they know their net is bad.

Unintentionally creating a bad gaming experience for yourself and others. It's kind of a weird ground.
I've never thought: "You know, even though the lag was atrocious, that player was really respectable and cool! I'd be so keen to play them again even with the 10+ frames of lag".

And the servers?
