Developer Niantic have re-introduced the “Nearby” feature for select Pokémon Go regions. The feature – which shows the types of monsters that can be caught at surrounding landmarks – was removed from the game at launch.
In an announcement on their site, the developer stated that they've rolled it out to players in the United States, and some parts of Europe. Some users are already reporting successes with the system, while others – namely those in rural areas – are having troubles.
At of the time of writing, the feature is currently unavailable in New Zealand, with the “Sightings” system still firmly in place.
It’s unclear when the feature will roll out in New Zealand, but we’ll update you when it does.
Is the feature too-little-too-late for the augmented reality monster catching game? Is it enough to bring you back in? Or is your Pokedex full enough? Let us know in the comments below!
