System Shock Remake Delayed to 2018

Nightdive Studios announced today that System Shock – their crowdfunded remake of the 1994 RPG classic – has been delayed. Originally slated for a December 2017 release, the gave has been given a projected launch date of Q2, 2018.

As the developer states on their Kickstarter page, they predict that all versions of the game – PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One – will all launch by Q2, 2018. It’s unknown if the launch will be simultaneous, with the developer adding “we’ll do our best.”

System Shock’s crowdfunding campaign launched in June. The game very quickly met its funding goal of $900,000 USD. Since then, the entire campaign gained over 21,000 backers, who collectively pledged over $1.3 million USD.
