Cuphead Slated for Mid-2017 Release

Cuphead – the cartoony and stylish indie platformer – is slated to release in 2017. Development team Studio MDHR made the announcement on its website, Polygon reports.

“Throughout this year we discussed reducing the scope to make a 2016 release, but we made the difficult decision to delay the launch in order to ship with our vision intact,” wrote the developer. “We are happy to announce that Cuphead will be coming to Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam in Mid-2017.”

“We are constantly humbled by your continued support,” they added. “Love you all and can’t wait to get this to you. Without further ado, we will get back to work!”

Cuphead was unveiled in 2014, and was expected to release this year.

Right now I'm worried about the platforming part of the game. The general concensus seems to be that it feels like it was tacked on after the game was unveiled, which solely focused on the boss stages. If there's a disconnect between the platforming part and the boss part, it would be disappointing because the game looks fantastic.
