Pokémon Go Makes Gym Training Easier

Pokémon Go Makes Gym Training Easier

Developer Niantic announced over the weekend that Pokemon Go – their augmented reality monster catching game – will be getting a tweak to one of its core features. This time, Gyms are in their sights.

In a post to their site (via Destructoid), developer Niantic made this announcement:

As we continue to make improvements to Pokémon GO, we have made an enhancement to the Gym experience for Trainers of all levels. In an upcoming version of Pokémon GO, when training at a friendly Gym, Trainers will be able to bring six Pokémon to battle instead of one. In addition, the CP of the Pokémon you are training against may be temporarily adjusted lower during your training session to generally match your Pokémon’s battle capabilities.

The level scaling looks to stop trainers completely dominating Gyms, and giving newer players something to do.

No release window has been given for the update.

It's nice to see they are trying to improve things but im skeptical this will help the situation. Currently most of the gyms around me are lvl 10 so making gyms easier to train will just mean more lvl 10's which are not worth attacking for other teams. Maybe it makes more sense in smaller suburbs where there isn't a group of hadcores teaming up to boost gyms

Same with the gyms at my end of town. They have probably all been yellow for near 2 weeks now. I saw a couple red this afternoon, but as they were only level 2, it won't be long before they are yellow again.

Trying to take them down by yourself would be possible, but I am assuming way too time consuming, and you would need a bag of only revives and potions. I tried once, defeated 3 of the Pokémon in the gym, lost, and only took 1000 points off them. Gave up as I really didn't have the time to sit there and try.

I'm not really complaining as such, it is part of the game. But it would be nice if it was a little easier for those with a lower player level, or for those who don't have the time to dedicate their lives to Pokémon Go. We all want to play and we all want to experience all aspects of the game.
