Pokémon games will be making their way to NX – Nintendo’s upcoming system, said to merge the handheld and home gaming experience. This news comes directly from Pokémon Company executive Tsunekazu Ishihara.
"The NX is trying to change the concept of what it means to be a home console device or a hand-held device," Ishihara said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal (via Polygon). "We will make games for the NX."
According to reports from MCV, the Pokémon game coming to NX will be from developer Game Freak – better known for their efforts on the wildly popular handheld titles. This will join Mario and Zelda in a ‘dream’ launch window line-up. It’s already confirmed that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be coming to the system, in addition to its Wii U release.
Game Freak is currently working on Pokemon Sun and Moon for 3DS, which will be available November 18.
Nintendo NX is slated to release in March, 2017.
