Pokémon Games Are Coming to the NX

Pokémon games will be making their way to NX – Nintendo’s upcoming system, said to merge the handheld and home gaming experience. This news comes directly from Pokémon Company executive Tsunekazu Ishihara.

"The NX is trying to change the concept of what it means to be a home console device or a hand-held device," Ishihara said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal (via Polygon). "We will make games for the NX."

According to reports from MCV, the Pokémon game coming to NX will be from developer Game Freak – better known for their efforts on the wildly popular handheld titles. This will join Mario and Zelda in a ‘dream’ launch window line-up. It’s already confirmed that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be coming to the system, in addition to its Wii U release.

Game Freak is currently working on Pokemon Sun and Moon for 3DS, which will be available November 18.

Information on the NX is scarce, but reports have said that it will be a portable console with detachable controllers. Others have claimed that it will also use cartridges instead of discs.

Nintendo NX is slated to release in March, 2017.

Hmmm pokemon game releasing in November then another one near March. Highly doubt it will be a new generation, I have a feeling it will be a spin off like the pokemon wii games which would just be meh.
But I will reserve my judgement and hold onto some hope that it will be amazing

I wouldn't mind seeing a Pokémon snap or stadium remake or new edition. This actually makes me quite keen for the nx.

IF this really is a proper home console version of Pokemon, with graphics (and hopefully new gameplay to go along with said gfx) anywhere near those seen in Zelda: Breathe of the Wild... then the NX might just be my first Nintendo product purchase since the Gameboy Colour.

Nintendo's days in hardware are numbered, I think they will be the last to realise this, and I'm a big fan of my Wii U!
