Nintendo announced today that players can expect more amiibo from the company this holiday season, this time to celebrate The Legend of Zelda’s 30th anniversary.
Four amiibo will be joining the already growing collection, with an 8-bit link harkening back to the original game on NES. Another is based on Nintendo 64’s Ocarina of Time, and the remaining two on Gamecube’s Wind Waker.
All four will work the same as existing Link, Toon Link, and Zelda amiibo figures from the Super Smash Bros collection. They will also have some undisclosed Breath of the Wild functionality too, when the game launches on Wii U and NX next year.
In more Zelda news, Nintendo also announced during its Direct livestream today that Hyrule Warriors Legend – the 3DS version of the Wii U action title – would be getting some new DLC. This comes in the form of Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks tie-ins.
The new Legend of Zelda amiibo are expected to launch on December 2. We'll keep you updated if a different New Zealand date becomes available.
