Evo Is Coming to Japan

Evo Is Coming to Japan

Evo – the internationally recognised fighting game tournament – is heading to Japan, organisers announced at the event today. While nothing concrete has surfaced, more is promised to be revealed at Tokyo Game Show later this year.

The announcement featured Yoshinori Ono and Katsuhiro Harada – Street Fighter and Tekken producers respectively – so it’s likely both Capcom and Bandai Namco will be represented at the Japanese tournament.

A crossover tournament was scheduled for Japan in 2011, between Evo and Japan’s own Godsgarden fighting game competition. It was cancelled however, due to the earthquakes that shocked the country at the time.

Tokyo Game Show will run from September 15 to 18. We’ll keep you updated as more information on the tournament surfaces.
