Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment – the publisher for Batman, Mortal Kombat, and Shadow of Mordor – might have its own E3 briefing next year.
WB president David Haddad said in an interview with VentureBeat that the option will ride entirely on their upcoming portfolio of games.
"For us, it's mostly slate-driven," Haddad said. "You look at the people that have meaningful press conferences, the big publishers--there's a slate that holds that together. I believe that could be in our future. It didn't make sense for us this year."
WB announced Injustice 2 (being developed by Mortal Kombat team NetherRealm) around E3. During Sony’s press conference, they also announced a Batman VR game for use with the PlayStation VR. Fans thought Shadow of Mordor would make an appearance, due to leaks of its existence in the months prior to E3.
Bethesda’s stance on whether or not they’d hold a conference each year has also been dependent on their upcoming roster of games.
