Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is just a week away, and developer Naughty Dog detailed what players can expect from the game’s multiplayer economy, and their plans for future content.
Multiplayer modes and additional maps will all be free, the developer stated on a PlayStation Blog post. Further, all DLC items can be unlocked with in-game currency.
"This means that the Uncharted 4 multiplayer community won't be fragmented by different types of DLC, and that those who are loyal in participating in the community will be rewarded," said Robert Cogburn, lead game designer.
Naughty Dog will release new gameplay items like weapons, boosters, and more as DLC, but they can also be earned through the in-game currency known as “Relics,” which are awarded through winning matches and completing daily challenges.
You can then cash these Relics in on DLC chests, which contain random items inside. The chests are split into two categories: one for cosmetic items, and another for gear that has statistical or mechanical benefits. To make sure you don’t waste your hard-earned Relics, subsequent chest-unlocks will never yield the same equipment twice.
Naughty Dog also charted out their multiplayer milestones for the foreseeable future, which you can see below.
Uncharted 4 will launch on exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on May 10.
