Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Published Monday 16 Feb 2009 5:09pm | PlayStation 3

9/10

When i first picked up mgs4 i had rather high expectations. And when the game started i didn't know what to make of it (it starts out as a live action tv station cooking show which you can flick through to other channels).I could tell instantly that it was something special as it displayed its stunning visuals in the opening cut scene and the music and equally great sound effects. So, when it came to the gameplay, I was ironically very disenchanted. The controls didn't make any sense to me and i found my self frustrated at the fact that i couldn't use the knife i was holding, but i found the magical select button which told you every thing about theeee controls (ok ill stop).
Anyway give the game a chance to get your head around the controls and you'll thoroughly enjoy this game, regardless whether or not you've played the predecessors
